BRANDING, WEBSITE REDESIGN: COOS COUNTY DEMOCRATS

After the 2016 election, I was looking for a way to get involved politically in my spare time. When I Googled, “Democrats of Coos County” the screen capture below is what I found when I arrived. Needless to say, it needed some help right away. I contact the CCD that evening.

I knew I could help.

First, we started off with designing a logo. I took the old video stills of a donkey kicking and traced it. Can you guess which frame my version is from? Which one would you have used?

“Animal locomotion”, 1872/85. Eadward Muygridge. Scan of 2 d images in the public domain believed to be free to use without restriction in the US.

Next up, we planned out some simple content strategy, organized a turn-key solution for members and used SquareSpace so I wouldn’t have to manage the day-to-day opporations of the website. We launched the website in August of 2017! Check it out here or by clicking on one of the images below to visit CoosDems.org:

DESIGN: EMAIL DESIGN, ART DIRECTION, & PRODUCTION

Since February of 2013 I’ve been developing, designing and producing content with HTML/CSS eblasts for BDGR, SV with KS and DVA. Here are a few of my favorite designs:

BRANDING: THE PUNCHBOWL LOGO

PROJECT:
I was the lead designer on the official Punchbowl logo! The logo was inspired by a small sketch from a VIP at KS. Many golfers like to add a personal meaning to the logo. For example, it could make some think of the infinity symbol, or the PB could look like a putter-head reflected.

No matter what the logo means to you or your golf buddies, taking home a keepsake from one of the most fun places in the world for golfers will spark fond memories.

AUDIENCE:
Golfers at BDGR.

MISSON:
Inspire amateur and retail golfers who are looking for a keepsake from their experience at The Punchbowl! What an incredible experience, both on and off the putting green! The Punchbowl is like putt-putt on true links greens but twice the size and undulation. Putts you’ve never dreamed of. Fun for all ages. Free for guests or travelers coming down the 101!

PROJECT:
One of the first major projects I worked on when arriving at Bandon Dunes was a menu header for each restaurant.

AUDIENCE:
Bandon Dunes patrons.

MISSION:
Create a lively and interesting menu header for each outlet. I worked closely with the Food and Beverage director and her team as well as KS to craft different graphics to help differentiate each restaurant’s voice. Later, we used those menu headers as navigation to the ‘Food and Spirits’ section of the new BDGR website,
